Helen (Falvey), a cherished wife, sister, mother and nana passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 6, 2011. She has been called to her heavenly Father after 94, years of a well lived life. She was the wife of Eugene Ferris who passed away in 1993. Born in Beaufort, County Kerry, Ireland, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Galvin) Falvey. At the age of seventeen she immigrated to London, where she married Eugene Ferris in 1939. With their two children Cornelius (Neil) and Mary, they immigrated to America in 1950. They settled in Brookline and had two more children, Deborah and Eugene Jr. In 1986 they moved to Southborough. Helen was a woman of exceptional courage, who immigrated to America to provide a life of opportunity for her children. She was a woman of great compassion who provided extraordinary care for her husband and daughter Deborah during their long illness. Finally, she was a person of deep faith which sustained her through the many joys and challenges of her life. She was loved and adored by her family and is survived by her children, Neil Ferris and his wife Maureen of Southborough, Mary Ricci and her husband Ronald of Wells Beach, ME; Eugene Ferris of Marlborough; Nora Kane of Easton, whom she cared for like a daughter; she was a devoted grandmother of 6 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. She is pre-deceased by her husband Eugene; daughter Deborah; and eight brothers and sisters. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, March 9, from 4:30 to 8 PM at Morris Funeral Home, 40 Main St. (Rte 30) Southborough, (Morrisfuneralparlor.com) A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, March 10, at 10 AM at St. Anne Church, 20 Boston Rd, (Rte 30), Southborough.
