Rudolph Small Obituary
Rudolph Small, age 81, of Framingham for 38 years, formerly of Buffalo, N.Y., died Saturday, April 16, 2011, at Metrowest Medical Center, Framingham. He was the husband of 57 years to Joan Marie (Girardi) Small of Framingham. Born in Buffalo, N.Y., he was the son of the late Michael and Sophie (Dolak) Small. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Mr. Small worked for 44 years at GTE in Needham as a buyer. He was also a GTE Quarter Century Member. He was a member and past commander at the Joseph Hriczko VFW in Buffalo, N.Y. Mr. Small was a member of St. Bridget Church in Framingham and was an avid card player with his friends at the senior center in Framingham. He loved spending time with his family and friends and his pride and joy his five grandchildren. He also enjoyed gardening, yard work, his favorite TV shows. Besides his wife Joan, he is survived by his children, Gary Small and his wife Sally of Raymond, N.H., and Mark Small and his wife Patricia of Douglas, five grandchildren, Tyler, Jessica, Matthew, Michael and Emmalee Small. He is also survived by his brother Donald Small and his wife Marlene of North Tonawanda, N.Y., and many nieces, nephews and friends, and his grand dogs, Marley, Petey and Vinnie. He was the brother of the late Dolores and Richard Small. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral on Wednesday at 8 a.m., from the Norton Funeral Home, www.nortonfuneralhome.com 53 Beech St. (corner of Union Ave), Framingham, followed by his funeral Mass at 9 a.m., in St. Bridget's Church, 830 Worcester Road, (Route 9), near Framingham Center. Burial will follow at St. Denis Cemetery, Douglas. Visiting hours at the funeral home will be Tuesday, from 4-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the , 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701 or to the , 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
