John W. McGann 55, of Franklin, died peacefully, on Sunday November 20, 2011 at Milford Regional Medical Center following an illness. Born May 2, 1956, in Framingham a son of the late Francis McGann and Florence O. (Thompson) McGann-Stanley, he was a lifelong Franklin resident, and a graduate of Franklin High School class of 1974. He served in the United States Army, and was currently working as a manager of several rental units in Franklin. John loved hunting, fishing, and the great outdoors. John is survived by a son; John Geer of Washington, 3 sisters Cheryl Christopherson of Blackstone, Bonnie Rohan and her husband Larry of Uxbridge, Patricia Clark of Cedar Grove, N.C., 4 brothers Kenneth McGann of Blackstone, Kevin McGann of Sarasota, FL, Joseph McGann of Franklin, and Timothy Stanley of Marlboro, and a dear friend Ligita Dolan of Franklin. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. He is the stepson of the late Lewis G. Stanley. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral with military honors Wednesday November 23rd, at 9:15AM from the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. Franklin, www.oterifuneralhome.com with a funeral Mass in St. Mary's Church 1 Church Sq. at 10AM. Burial will follow in Swandale Cemetery, Mendon. Calling hours are Tuesday from 4-8PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donation in his memory sent to the 5 Manley St. West Bridgewater, MA 02379 would be appreciated.
