Norma E. (Lane) Poisson, 82, died peacefully on Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at the MetroWest Medical Center in Natick following a period of declining health. She was born in Natick on May 20, 1930 the daughter of the late Arthur Lane and Evelyn (Haskell) Lane. Norma is survived by her devoted husband of 58 years, Leo J. Poisson of Natick. She was the loving mother of Catherine A. McMullen of Ashland and the late David A. Poisson who died in 2009. She was the beloved grandmother of Shaun Poisson of Natick; Shana Poisson of Worcester; Patrick Poisson of Framingham; Jeff Poisson and Alyssa Poisson both of Wilmington, NC and the great-grandmother of Olivia, Damien and Ryan Poisson. Also survived by her sister Sheila M. Lane of Natick, her daughter-in-law Ellen S. Poisson of Wilmington, NC and many nieces and nephews. Norma has been a lifelong resident of Natick and graduated from Natick High School with the Class of 1948 where she excelled in softball and basketball. She was a member of the Natick Gals Softball and basketball teams. For several years she was associated with Jones Drug Store in Natick Center and with Pendleton Jewelers as a sales representative. For many years she was the Manager of the lunch program for the Town of Framingham school department before retiring. She was an avid sports fan of all the Boston teams especially the Red Sox and Bruins. Her favorite pastime was traveling to and visiting lighthouses and collecting replicas of them. She also enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles. Norma was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to her family and will be fondly remembered by all of them. Memorial visitations will be held on Monday, June 18, 2012 from 9:30 to 11:00 am followed by her funeral service at 11:00 am at the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Road (Off Rte 30), Cochituate Village, Wayland. Interment will follow in the Poisson family lot in Dell Park Cemetery in Natick.
