1938 - 2007 Obituary Condolences
Harlan A. Christner, 68, of Tucson and formerly of Pigeon, died Wednesday evening, Jan. 17, 2007 at Marlette Regional Hospital, Hospice Unit.

He was born Dec. 10, 1938 in Pigeon, to the late Oarie and Ruth (Rook) Christner.

Harley graduated from Pigeon High School and attended Bay City Junior College for one year. In 1958, he joined the U.S. Air Force returning to Pigeon in 1962. He then went to Wayne State University where he received a bachelor's degree in business. Harley stayed at Wayne State several years as a counselor. In 1980, he moved to Tucson and was a professor at Pima Community College, where he taught business courses. He retired last summer for health reasons and returned to Huron County. In his free time he enjoyed photography.

Surviving are two sons, David and Dan Christner of Tucson, Ariz.; a daughter, Beth (Jim) Warner of Commerce Twp.; two grandchildren, Lauren and Nicholas; two brothers, Gary (Janet) Christner of Tucson and Dennis Christner of American Canyon, Calif.; and two sisters, Joyce (Richard) Deering of Sandusky and Shirley (Bill) McGee of Elkton.

Funeral services will be conducted 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 22, 2007 at the Champagne Funeral Chapel, Elkton, with the Rev. Gerald Meyer, pastor of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Cass City officiating.

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until the time of the service Monday at the funeral chapel.
