John E. Krug

Obituary Condolences

John "Jack (Pappy Jack)" E. Krug, 94, of Bad Axe passed away Saturday, July 14, 2007 at the Huron County Medical Care Facility in Bad Axe.

He was born Feb. 23, 1913, to the late Jacob B. and Christina (McIntosh) Krug of Bingham Township, Bad Axe.

On June 14, 1943, he was united in marriage to Blanche E. Walker at St. Columbkille Catholic Church. They enjoyed many years of marriage together. Blanche "Twiggy" passed away Feb. 8, 2006.

He attended St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Ubly and was a former member of the Knights of Columbus. Jack Krug lived and farmed on his centennial family farm (established in 1873) for many years. He was employed at the Fred Lenton lumber yard and the Ubly Community Schools as custodian/carpenter. He enjoyed carpentry, music, dancing, the game of golf, playing cards with his family and being with his family.

He is survived by two daughters, Carol A. (Gerald) Hart of Bad Axe and Estella M. (Conrad) Tyll of Winter Haven, Fla.; his grandchildren, Mickie-Tyll (Tracy) Urquhart, John (Sharon) Tyll, Jayme D. (Lauren Burriesci) Hart and Stacy E. Hart and fiancé, Chiwei Lee; sisters, LoDeema Lemkie and Luella (Robert) Myers; sisters-in-law, Lila Maurer and Marion (Bill) McQueen; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends, his extended family at the facility and his special caregivers.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his step-father, Daniel McIntosh; sisters, Eva Morrison, Catherine "Katie" (Bernie) Hurt, Gertrude (Art) Quinn; brothers, Angus "Gus" (Mary) Krug, Henry "Hank" (Noreen) Krug; in-laws, Gertrude (John) Garety, Edanna (Dave) Sweeney, Elizabeth "Betty" (Marsh) Sparling, LuElla (Merlin) Valley, Pete Lemkie and Mike Maurer. Memorial funeral service Mass will take place at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 28, 2007 at the chapel of the Huron County Medical Care Facility in Bad Axe to celebrate his life. Fr. Joe Griffin will officiate.
