Obituary Condolences

Lois Mae Howard, 78, of Bad Axe passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2008 at the Huron County Medical Care Facility in Bad Axe.

She was born on May 22, 1929 in Cass City to the late Lawrence J. and Evelyn Ellen (Henderson) Dufty. She was united in marriage with Arnold Ray Howard in 1951. He preceded her in death in February of 1959.

Lois graduated in 1946 from Owendale High School. She worked for Automotive Industries in Owendale until they closed in 1946. She then worked as a bookkeeper for Mike Cottick, Jim Holly, and Demings Inc. for many years. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Owendale. She loved her grandchildren and being a volunteer grandma at George E. Greene Elementary School.

Mrs. Howard is survived by one son, Patrick Howard, of Bad Axe; two daughters, Vicki (Patrick) Greyerbiehl of Bad Axe, Debra K. Gay of Mount Pleasant; three sisters, Mary (Ronald) McDonald of Bad Axe, Patricia (Leonard) Pilato of Caseville, and Kay Tait of Port Hope; grandchildren, Brian Greyerbiehl of Detroit, Luke Greyerbiehl of Chicago, Charles Gay of Mount Pleasant, Alissa Rader of Bad Axe and Scott Laskowski of Detroit; great-grandchildren, Catherine and James Greyerbiehl; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Marge Engler.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 4, 2008 at the MacAlpine "Mac" Chapel in Bad Axe. Mel McCracken, lay speaker, will officiate.

Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. Thursday, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the chapel.

Memorials may be offered to the Family Discretionary Fund.
