Lola Halcomb

MIRACLE — Lola Frances Halcomb, 93, of Miracle, KY passed away Tuesday, January 14, 2014, at Baptist Healthcare in Lexington, KY. She was born November 30, 1920, in Miracle, KY, the daughter of Gobel, and Electa Hoskins. She believed in the Primitive Baptist faith. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was also an avid UK basketball fan and loved her flower garden. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years: Earl Halcomb, sisters: Freda Hall and Jean Hoskins, daughter: Deanna Koop, and infant son: Gary Wendall Halcomb.

She is survived by the following members of her family:

Children: David (Connie) Halcomb, Janis (J.D.) Brock, Eddie Halcomb, and Sheila (Jimbo) Brittian.

3 Grandchildren she raised as her own: Shannon (Josh) Lawson, Shawn Wilder, and Janeen (Jake) Lawson

Grandchildren: Shana (Travis) Hodge, Jody (Crystal) Brock, Brian (Pat) Halcomb, Allison (Harvey) Miracle, Chip (Amy) Koop, Chris (Liz) Koop, Lora Brittian, Kelly Brittian, and Barrett Brittian.

Funeral services will be held at 8:00 p.m. Friday, January 17, 2014 at the Creech Funeral Home Chapel, with Elder Kenneth Robbins and Elder Steve Green presiding. Music will be provided by Marissa Brock, and the Primitive Baptist singers. Pallbearers will be her grandsons: Shawn Wilder, Jody Brock, Brian Halcomb, Chip Koop, Chris Koop, and Barrett Brittian.

Interment will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 18, 2014, at the Green Hills Memorial Gardens.

The Family will receive friends Friday, January 17, 2014 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the Creech Funeral Home.
