PINEVILLE — Ricky Hensley, 52, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, April 4, 2014 at Pineville Community Hospital. He was the son of Daniel and Betty Smith Hensley. He was a loving husband and father. A faithful member of the Straight Creek Pentecost Holiness Church. Ricky was a hard working coal miner, known by all his friends as "Smiley." His favorite place to be was in the mountains hunting and enjoying nature.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother-in-law who loved him like a son, George and Katherine Neal, his grandparents; Albert and Myrtle Hensley and Woodson and Viola "Maw" Smith.
Left to mourn his passing are his wife of 29 years, Eva Neal Hensley; son, Randy Dewayne Hensley; parents, Daniels and Betty Hensley; brothers and sisters, Dorothy (Dennis) Laws, Joyce (Leonard) Sturgill, Gayle (Harmon) North, Larry (Teresa) Hensley, Loyd (Teresa) Hensley, Debbie (Paul) Shepherd and Carl Hensley and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and a loving church family that stood by his side thru his long courageous battle with cancer.
Services will be at 2 PM Sunday, April 6th at Straight Creek Pentecost Holiness Church with Rev. John Neal and Rev. Thomas Bishop. Music will be by the Church singers. Burial will be in the Neal Family Cemetery, at Pineville with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 5 until 9 PM at Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and after 9:00 PM visitation will be at Straight Pentecost Holiness Church.
