MIDDLESBORO — William (Billy) Brown Burch, of Middlesboro, lost his fight with cancer on Friday, June 13, 2014.
He was born March 28, 1942 in Middlesboro, KY, the son of the late William Roosevelt (Bill) Burch and Mildred Brown Burch.
He attended St. Julian's School and graduated from Middlesboro High School where he was an outstanding athlete playing both football and baseball.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, Sammy Lynn and John Clifford, grandparents, John Simon and Nan Wyrick Burch and C. J. (Cliff) and LuVerna Shoffner Brown, and a host of aunts and uncles.
He is survived by children, Nancy Beth Wilburn and John William Burch, grandchildren Kirsten, Courtney and Connor, a great granddaughter, Taylor Nicole; sister, Nancy Burch Moody, brother-in-law Tom Moody, nephew Adam Burch Moody and neice Mykel Lauren Moody.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 18, at the Creech Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Creech Funeral Home with Dr. William Boyd Bingham presiding. Music will be provided by Thomasa Risner.
Interment will follow at the Middlesboro Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Dan Poff, Clint Jones, Clay Carroll, Boss Inman, Bill Ledford and Benny Collins.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Leemon Moyers, Wayne Barnett, Terry Carroll, Mike Peck, Butch Leach and Everett "Mamaw" Gulley.
