MIDDLESBORO — Myrtle Mathis, 90 of Middlesboro, passed away Wednesday February 12, 2014 at the Middlesboro ARH. She was born January 18, 1924 in Middlesboro. A daughter of the late Andy F. and Nora Spoons Mayes. She believed in the Baptist Faith. In addition to her Parents she was preceded in death by her Husband: Roy Mathis, Daughter: Eula Mae Partin, Brothers: Joe and Jake Mayes, Grandson: Robert Wilcox and Great Grandson: Hayden Wilcox.

Survivors Include:

Daughter: Shirley (Joseph) Wilcox;

Son in Law: Kenneth Partin;

Sisters: Edna Morrison and Juanita Mayes;

11 Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren;

And a host of Great Great Grandchildren and many Nieces and Nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 8 pm Friday at the Creech Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jess Roark presiding. Music will be provided by the Church Singers. Interment will be held at 11 am Saturday at the Green Hills Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be: Kirby Wilcox, Michael Wilcox, George Fisher, Greg Ward, Mikey Wooten, Barney Wooten, Roger Grubbs and Tyler Baker. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Friday at the Creech Funeral Home.
