MIDDLESBORO — Ardith Irene Large Daniels of Middlesboro, Kentucky returned to her Creator on Friday, March 21, 2014. She was born on April 27, 1919 in Tazewell, Tennessee. Irene Daniels is preceded in death by her husband Walter Reed Daniels, children Joyce Leach and Phyllis Richardson, grandson George (Skip) Rimel III, daughter-in-law Bette Daniels, son-in-law Jack Richardson, granddaughter-in-law Sharon Daniels, parents Wiley Lafayette Large and Almeda Duncan Large. Also preceding her are siblings: Elsie Presnell, Howard Large, Clarice Barnes, Clifford Large, Charlie Large, Nellie Martin, and Edith Robertson.
Surviving are children Lemuel Troy Daniels of Monroe, MI and Donna Rimel (George) of Harrogate, Tennessee. Also surviving are grandchildren Ray Leach of Terre Haute, IN, Terry and Linda Leach of Middlesboro, Roger Leach of Knoxville, TN, Troy Lee Daniels of lda, MI, Steve Daniels (Kim) and Kevin Daniels of Monroe, MI., Cuy (Jackie) Richardson of Georgetown, KY and Todd Richardson of Barbourville, KY.
Great grandchildren Carri Kennedy of FL, Michael (Audrie) Leach of TX, Candi (Zach) Trusler and John Mark (Michelle) Leach of IN, Jonathan Leach of TN, Chastity Leach Powers of KY, Chelsea, Hannah, Sarah, Quri and Evan Daniels of MI, Tasha (Todd) Fortner of TN.
Also surviving are eleven great, great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Irene leaves close friends Dorothy Dobbs, Jewel Poore, Juanita Cooley and Donna Powers.
Irene Daniels has lived a blessed life in Tennessee, Michigan, and Kentucky. She will be greatly missed by family and friends, but she is received into glory with even more family and friends. She has fought a good fight, she has finished her course, she has kept the faith. We send her forth from arms of love to be embraced with the everlasting arms of God.
Visitation was at the First Apostolic Church of Middlesboro on Sunday, March 23, after 3:00 p.m. Funeral services were at the church on Monday, March 24 at 11:00 am. She will be interred at Duncan Cemetery in Tazewell, TN. Rev Charles Bush officiated and the family sang.
