HARROGATE, Tenn. — Bob Goforth, 75, of Harrogate, TN, passed away Thursday, March 27 at the Claiborne County Hospital.
He was born April 26, 1938 in Harlan, KY, the son of the late Clarence and Delana Heath Goforth.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife: Angie Goforth, a son: Victor Goforth and a daughter: Jamie Goforth Reynolds.
Bob had played football at the University of Tennessee for 2 years, then transferred to Eastern Kentucky University where he completed his collegiate football career, before graduating in 1962. Bob was an avid sportsman who especially loved fishing and went fishing whenever he got the chance.
He is survived by the following members of his family:
Son: Alex (Kelly) Goforth of Florida
His Companion: Sherry Harrison of Harrogate, TN
2 Grandchildren: Nick and Christina Reynolds both of Middlesboro, KY
A brother: Tom (Mary) Goforth of North August, SC
Special friends: Danny Carmack of Middlesboro, KY and Randy Lefevers of Speedwell, TN
And a host of other relatives and friends.
A memorial service was held at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 1, at the Creech Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Rick Rigsby presiding.
At Mr. Goforth's request, he was cremated by the Creech Funeral Home and interment was private.
