MIDDLESBORO — Connie Lee Nash Smith, 72, of Middlesboro, passed away Tuesday, April 1 at the Physicians Regional Medical Center in Knoxville, TN. She was born August 4, 1941 in Middlesboro, KY, the daughter of the late Cleve and Doshie Thomas Nash. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son: Jessee James Smith, grandson: Michael Gilbert, George Dewey Gabbard Jr., great-grandson: David Carnelious Coleman, siblings: Geneva Gibson, Roxy Hill, Dorothy Smith, Helen Partin, May Daniels, Charles Nash.
She is survived by:
Her Husband: Ballard Smith
Children: Linda Irene (David) Hall, Julie (Dewey) Gabbard, Jimmy Ballard (Scotty) Smith, Carl Edward (Mary) Smith, Gail (James) Epperson and Sarah (Jet) Laws.
Siblings: Minnie Partin, Gene Evans

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, at the Creech Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jeremy Glenn presiding. Interment will follow in the Smith Cemetery at Middlesboro. Pallbearers will be George Gabbard, Jr., Jeffery Dakota Owens, Levi Branson, Caleb Owens, Tommy, Joey and Christopher Smith and Brian Patton.
