WILLIAMS BRANCH — Reverend John Thomas Robbins, 90, of Williams Branch, went home to be with his Lord on April 10, 2014 at his home. He was born October 8, 1923 in Pineville, KY, the son of the late James Oliver and Lealie Denny Robbins. He was an ordained Missionary Baptist minister and was retired from the L & N Railroad. He was a loving husband and father and will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers: James Hobart Robbins (infant), Fred Robbins and Don Robbins; sisters: Martha Ellen Greene, Juanita Crabtree and Kacenia Hoskins.
He is survived by the following members of his family:
His beloved wife of 68 years: Geneva Robbins
Sons: James C. (Betty) Robbins, Johnny (Brenda) Robbins and Mitchel (Patricia) Robbins
Daughters: Linda (Ray) Harris, Margaret Harris, Phyllis (Frank) Mason and Kathy (James) Stonic
15 Grandchildren, 21 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great-great Grandchildren
Brother: Paul (Betty) Robbins
Sisters: Evelyn Miller and Ella King
And a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 13, at the Creech Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Preston Smith, Rev. Clarence Mason and Rev. Danny Robbins presiding. Music will be provided by Luther Adkins, Vickie Elliott and Thomasa Risner. Interment will follow in the Hurst Cemetery on the Page Cut Off. Family members will serve as pallbearers.
