MORRISTOWN, Tenn. — Ethel Helton Lawson, 83, of Morristown, passed away on Sunday, June 22, 2014, at the Parkwest Medical Center, Knoxville. She was born in Saylor (Middlefork) KY on March 2, 1931, a daughter of the late Stratton and Viola Howard Helton. She was a member of the Fairview Bible Baptist Church and had been a homemaker.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bradford Lawson; brothers and sisters, Ernest Helton, Edward Helton, Howard Helton, Jean Saylor and Hazel Helton.
Survivors include her children and their spouses, Ronald and Sandra Lawson, Bonnie Jean and Rick Warren, Jeweldean and George Surface, Brenda Kay and Randall Ridley, Donnie and Dolly Lawson and Stanley and Marlene Lawson; grandchildren, Aleah Mason; Sonya Lawson; Rebecca Lawson; Jason Warren; Gary Surface; Angie Surface; Brian Ridley; Bradley Paul Lawson and Melanie Woody; thirteen great-grandchildren; brother and sister, Melvin Helton and Mary Elizabeth Howard and husband, Ralph and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Services will be 8:00 PM Tuesday at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Chapel with Rev. Darrell Lowe and Rev. Bobby Helton. Music will be by LeSue Surface, Allison Surface, Sydney Surface, Barbara and Reed Brock and Willie Frank Durham.
Entombment will be Wednesday at 11:00 AM in the Mausoleum at Green Hills Memorial Gardens, Middlesboro. Pallbearers will be Gary Surface, Jason Warren, Jaden Woody, Michael Harris, Matt Webster and Shane Lawson. Honorary pallbearers will be Rick Warren, George Surface and Randall Ridley.
