MIDDLESBORO — Edna Gambrel Greener 75, of Middlesboro, KY passed away on Saturday, June 21, 2014 at the Middlesboro A.R.H.
She was born on April 18, 1939 in Mills, KY, the daughter of the late Carrie Smith and Floyd Gambrel. She accepted God and was baptized in her teen at Crockett Baptist Church in Fields, KY. She was employed by "The Gap" in Northern Kentucky where she worked prior to retirement. She returned to Middlesboro following the death of her husband to be near to family. She had a great love for her family and her dogs. Her passing leaves an empty place in the hearts of all who knew her.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brothers Ike, Thom, and Cecil and her husband Richard Greener.
Edna is survived by the following members of her family:
Brother: Earl (Frances) Gambrel
Sisters: Opal McBride and Dorothy Gambrel of Middlesboro, KY, Hazel (John) Priest of Indianapolis, IN, Imogene (Greg) Houston of Cincinnati, OH, Jessie (Gordon) Perry of Ervine, KY.
And 31 nieces and nephews and numerous grand-nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at the Creech Funeral Home Chapel.
Interment will follow in the Green Hills Memorial Gardens.
