PINEVILLE — L.D. Saylor, 80, of Pineville, passed away on Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at the North Knoxville Medical Center, Knoxville. He was born in Pineville on July 23, 1933, a son of the late Tony and Audie Catherine Hoskins Saylor. He was a member of the Laurel Hill Pentecostal Church and had worked as a miner in the Coal Mines. He had served in the United States Army during the Korean War era.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Lou Reynolds Saylor; brother and sisters, Tony "Jr" Saylor, Geneva Hoskins and Edna Wilson.

Survivors include his children and their spouses, Angela and Jeff Ralston; Robin and Angela Saylor; Hope and Michael Southerland and Linda and Gary Brubach; grandchildren, Christopher and Angie Sharpe; Adam and Tiffany Saylor; Jonathan Sharpe; Zachary Ralston and Savannah Southerland; great-grandchildren, C.J. Sharpe and Jenna Brooke Saylor; brother-in-law and special friend, Charles Reynolds; special friend, Randy Miracle and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Services will be at 7:00 PM Friday at the Laurel Hill Pentecostal Church with Rev. Hubert Baker and Mr. Jeff Ralston. Music will be by Angie Saylor, Jeff Ralston and Hubert Baker.

Burial will be Saturday at 1:00 PM at the Hurst Cemetery at Page Cut-Off. Pallbearers will be Adam Saylor, Chris Sharpe; Jonathan Sharpe; Zachary Ralston, Scott Hoskins; Hubert McAninch; James Hoskins and Michael Reynolds. Honorary pallbearer will be Brian Hurst.

Donations to assist with funeral expenses are appreciated in lieu of flowers.

The family will receive friends from 5:30 until the funeral hour at the Laurel Hill Pentecostal Church.
