PINEVILLE — Amanda Nadean Grays Dean, 88, of Pineville, passed away on Friday, July 25, 2014, at the Middlesboro Health and Rehab Center. She was born in Tinsley on May 6, 1926 a daughter of the late Ernest and Alexis Hembree Grays. She was a member of the Riverside Baptist Church and had been a cook for the Bell County School System for 17 years. Nadean served as a Democrat Party Election Officer for 32 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Hubert Dean; daughter, Kletha Jane Dean; brothers and sister, Bill, James and John Grays and Julia Agnes Morgan.
Survivors include her children, Alden (Connie) Dean; Judy Dean and Danny (Sharon) Dean; four grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Services were at 2:00 PM Monday at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Chapel with Rev. Ray Spicer and Rev. Astor Simpson. Music was by Teresa Davenport. Burial was in Green Hills Memorial Gardens, Middlesboro. Pallbearers were Gary Brooks, Arliss Davenport, Rick Dunn, Mike Sproles, John Vancleave and Ronnie Washam. Honorary pallbearers were Dr. Hays, Dr. Barry, Dr. Lui and John C. Mills.
