MIDDLESBORO — Edna M. Collett, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 12, 2014.

A faith member of Jenson Baptist Church for over 50 years, Edna was saved and baptized over 75 years ago, a fact she took joy in and shared often as she served as a witness and role-model to those around her.

Her kindness, love, warmth, and guidance will be greatly missed by her friends and loved ones. Her stories of life, which usually began with, "Children, if you could see what I see..", will be a legacy of love that will be passed down for generations to come. A better Christian role-model and mentor could not be found.

Edna is preceded in death by the following members of her family: loving husband, Grant Collett; daughter and son-in-law, Martine and Harvey M. Brooks Sr.; Son, Thomas Collett; parents, Abbie and Henry Neal; brothers, Lee and Fred Neal, and sisters, Thelma Napier, America Hoskins, and Francis Green.

She is survived by the following members of her family:

Her best friends, loving caregiver, and daughter: Brenda and Sillis Brooks

Loving daughter-in-law, who was like a daughter: Dorothy Collett

Grandchildren: Harvey M. Brooks Jr., Darcye (Jerry) Hensley, Beth (Mike) Mangus, S. Joshua Brooks

Great-Grandchildren: Kristi Brooks, Madison Hensley
