MIDDLESBORO — Charles Edward Partin, Sr., 83, of Middlesboro, KY passed away Wednesday, December 25, 2013 at his home after a one year battling with cancer while being attended by family members. He was born Friday, October 24, 1930 in Frakes, KY, the son of the late Robert and Mossie Partin. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Mary Helen Partin; brothers: Norman, William, Jr., Vernon Wayne, and Eugene; sisters: Edna Marcum, Cenie Webb, Georgia Evelyn Partin, and Razea Partin. He believed in the Baptist faith.

He is survived by the following members of his family: daughters: Mary K. Akers of Knoville, TN, Georgia Andersen of Athens, TN, Peggy Collins of Knoxville, TN, Marie Albright (Junior) of Lafollette, TN, Patricia Partin of Middlesboro, KY, Pam Frady of Morristown, TN, and Jackie Ausmus (Bo) of Lexington, KY; one son, Charles "Chuck" Partin (Robin) of Middlesboro, KY; ten grandsons: Lance Albright, Dustin Akers, Ryan Collins, Nicholas Andersen, Spencer Andersen, Brandon and Cody Partin, Skip Frady, Shane Lawson and Shawn Partin; 3 granddaughters: Heather Lawson, Brittany Collins and J. C. Ausmus; 4 great grandchildren: Colby and Katen Lawson, Jaxson Collins, and Noah Oldham; two brothers: Henry C. Partin and Kenneth Partin; one aunt, Nonie and host of nephews and nieces.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m., Saturday, December 28, 2013 at Shumate Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Junior Albright presiding. Music will be provided by Shirley and Charlie Dummitt. Pallbearers will be his grandsons. Interment will follow in Green Hills Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends 12-2 p.m., Saturday, December 28, 2013 at Shumate Funeral Home Chapel.
