Carl W. "Buddy" Bengtson, Jr.

Carl "Buddy" W. Bengtson, Jr., 70, of Middletown, husband of Eileen (McBrien) Bengtson, died Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at his home. He was born in Middletown, son of the late Carl and Florence (Brown) Bengtson, Sr. Carl was a veteran who served with the Unites States Air Force. Prior to retirement, he was a tool maker at Pratt & Whitney and later he was a custodian at Regional School District #13. He was a camping enthusiast and enjoyed seasonal camping at Nelson's with Margaret and Bruce Binge. He also enjoyed spending time with members of the Radical Valve Timers Hot Rod Club.
Besides his wife, Carl is survived by, two sons, Carl W. Bengtson, III and Raymond S. Bengtson; four sisters, Winifred May of Sebastian, FL, Carole Johnson of Middletown, Linnea Mazzulli and her husband Armand of Niantic and Elaine Williams and her husband Les of Old Lyme; five grandchildren, SPC Ryan, US Army, Christopher, Matthew, Sarah and Kolby. He was predeceased by a sister, Joyce Wilhelm.
The funeral service will be held Saturday at 3 p.m. at Faith Lutheran Church, 300 Washington St., Middletown. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Indian Hill Cemetery. Friends may call prior to the service Saturday from 1 to 2:30 at Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver St, Middletown.
