Carl Dascanio Obituary

DASCANIO, CARL R. Carl R. Dascanio, 80, passed away on December 4, 2013 at the Bay Pines Medical Center (VA). He was born and raised in Middletown, but moved to Clearwater, Florida for retirement 22 years ago. He was the son of the late Carlo and Lucy Dascanio of Middletown. He is survived by a son, Michael Dascanio, of Middletown, a daughter, Jody Cicchese of Rhode Island, a sister and brother-in-law, Chuck and Carla (Dascanio) Cheesebrough of New Bern, North Carolina. Also had five grandchildren: Brian Dascanio of Miami, FL, Jason Dascanio of Middletown, Meg, Nicholas,and Kelly Cicchese, all of Rhode Island, and one nephew, Robert Barillaro of Washington, DC. He was the longtime companion of Patricia DeGross of Clearwater, FL, who cared for him until the end. He was a longtime member of the local Carpenter’s union and was an avid collector. He enjoyed spending time with friends and loved visits from his family. His ashes will be interred at the Veterans Cemetery in Middletown.
