Christine Fazzina

FAZZINA, CHRISTINE DiBENEDETTO Christine DiBenedetto Fazzina, 75, beloved wife of 50 years to George Fazzina of Middletown, passed away peacefully on November 29, 2013 surrounded by her loving family. Christine was born on July 5, 1938 in Hartford to Antonio and Mary DiBenedetto, where she grew up and graduated from Buckley High School in 1956. She continued her education by earning a Bachelor’s degree in English from St. Joseph College and a Master’s degree from Central Connecticut State College. She enriched many young minds while teaching at Woodrow Wilson and Middletown High Schools for over 30 years, retiring in 1998. Christine loved reading, crafts and cooking for friends and loved ones. Her culinary talents will be greatly missed and her beautiful ceramic masterpieces, which she made and gave as gifts, will be treasured forever. Most of all, she will be remembered for her love and devotion to her family. Christine is survived by her son Dante Fazzina and his wife Sally of Wallingford and her daughter Marisa Fazzina and her companion David Ball of Brooklyn, New York and her cherished grandchildren Gabrielle, Isabelle and Stephen. She also leaves her brothers Tito DiBenedetto and his wife Kathy and Charles DiBenedetto and his wife Barbara, all of Middletown. She will be dearly missed by her nieces and nephews, who not only looked upon her as an aunt, but also as a mother and grandmother. Calling hours will be at Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver Street, Middletown on Thursday from 6pm to 8pm. The funeral mass will be at 10am Friday morning at St. Francis of Assisi Church, also in Middletown.
