Filamena Amenta Marino Obituary

Filamena Minnie Amenta Marino, 98, of Cromwell, devoted wife of the late Mario Harry Marino, passed away peacefully Thursday, August 8, 2013 at Aurora Senior Living of Cromwell. Born September 11, 1914, the daughter of the late Antonino and Lucia (Rosano) Amenta. She was a communicant of St. John Church, Cromwell.
She is survived by her loving family, daughter Constance DeMino and her husband Edward of Rocky Hill and her son, Carmelo Marino and his wife Carol of East Hartford, grandsons, John DeMino of Bloomfield, James DeMino and his wife Karen of Cromwell, Carl Marino and his wife Jill of South Windsor and great grandsons, Joseph DeMino and Nicholas Marino. She is also survived by sisters, Connie Halstead, Jennie Amenta, Lillian Cota and Marie Milardo and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Besides her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by her grandson, Michael Patrick DeMino, brother, Sebastian Amenta and sisters, Angela Arcidiacono and Anne Bradley.
The family would like to give special thanks for the devoted and compassionate care given to Minnie. Especially Anna Kantor, the numerous Home Caregivers, Vitas and the entire staff at Aurora Senior Living of Cromwell. We are so appreciative of all the wonderful and loving care each of you gave her.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 13 at the D'Angelo Funeral Home, 22 South Main Street, Middletown followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 A.M. at St. John Church, Cromwell. Burial will be at the family plot at the St. Sebastian Cemetery, Middletown. Relatives and friends may call at the Funeral Home 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. prior to the Mass.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Minnie's name may be made to the Cromwell Fire Department, Ambulance Division, 110 Court Street, Cromwell, CT 06416, or to Vitas Hospice Care, 628 Hebron Avenue, Suite 300, Glastonbury, CT 06033
