Going to miss that beautiful contagious smile. God has shared his blessing with us for over 78 years and now it is her time to go to her Real home. I can imagine Jesus opening his arms and telling Mother Highsmith, "Well done, well done, my good and faithful servant." May God continue to keep and Bless the family.

I'm deeply saddened to see that Jessie Highsmith has passed on. To me, she was a superstar among the larger-than-life individuals who advocated for those less fortunate. A strong mother figure to all, you could never say “no” to Jessie. We shared the same birthday, something she never let me forget, and would always greet me with a huge hug. She connected me with the older generation that has now passed on. We would talk about old times. She would always ask about my family, as if I were the most important person around. She was so proud of her family, too. Her smile just radiated when she talked about them. She was a beautiful person inside and out and will be deeply missed. My condolences to her family. I will always remember her, especially on September 7.

Family of Jessie Highsmith,
Our prayers go out to the family for the loss of your Mother, Grand Mother, Friend and family Shepard. I have so many fond memories of Jessie from growing up in Long River Village as a child to my adulthood. Jessie was an original "Storm Trooper" for all who needed support and a voice to right any wrong being done in Middletown or if you needed advice and support to lift up your spirits. Jessie was a strong supporter of her Church, Family and Community and her voice was one to be recon with. She paved a wide path in Middletown for all of us to be able to walk with our heads high and minds free. Rest in Peace Jessie--Well done my good and faithful servant. May the good Lord be with the family at such a time as this.
