Joan D'Antonio Obituary

Joan (Douglas) Asci D'Antonio, of Middlefield, passed away on Tuesday, October 8th at Middlesex Hospital Hospice Unit at the age of 58. She was the daughter of the late Stanley Douglas and the late Mereta (Millett) Barker. Joan was born in Lincoln, ME on May 27, 1958 and graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in Middletown, CT in 1974. She worked as an Administrative Assistant for Aetna until she became an entrepreneur and owner of Rapid Recovery Services for 10 years. She enjoyed shopping for antiques, discovering new recipes, traveling, and walking on the beach. She loved enjoying time with her children and family and participated every year in the Plainville Relay For Life. She had fun creating crafty gifts for her many friends and family. Joan had a very unique way of making friends and impacting people's lives with her kindness and was always willing to extend a helping hand to those who needed it. Joan is lovingly remembered by her son, Jason Asci of Austin, TX and her daughter, Michelle D'Antonio of Middletown. Along with her brother, Richard Douglas and his wife, Judie; her sisters, Mary Ann Douglas of Southington and Carolyn Douglas of Middlefield; her nephews, Shaun Wyman and his family of Plainville and Jamie Wyman of Portland, Nick and his wife Latisha Campbell of Dallas, TX, and many life-long friends and extended family in Maine. There will be no church services. Friends and family may call on Friday, October 11th from 5:00 to 8:00pm at the Cromwell Funeral Home, 506 Main Street, Cromwell and in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Plainville Relay For Life, In Memory of Joan D'Antonio, 825 Brook Street, Rocky Hill, CT 06067.
