Jose Gonzalez Obituary

Jose Manuel Gonzalez, 64, of Rocky Hill, passed away on Saturday, October 12th at West Haven Veterans' Hospital. Born in Arecibo, Puerto Rico, he was the son of the late Francisco and Juana (Gomez) Gonzalez. Jose was a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Vietnam War.
He is survived by two sons, Jose M. Gonzalez, Jr. of NJ and Edward Batista of Meriden; two daughters, Subrina Gonzalez of Middletown and Maribel L. Gonzalez of NJ; a sister, Elmin Cortes of FL and eight grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 18th at 10:00am at Levitow Health Care Facility Chapel (on the grounds of the State Veterans Hospital), 287 West Street, Rocky Hill. Burial will follow in State Veterans Cemetery where full military honors will be accorded. Friends may call Friday morning from 9:30 to 10:00am at the chapel and may send messages of condolence to the family at www.doolittlefuneralservice.com. Doolittle Funeral Home, Middletown is handling the arrangements.
