Maria Theresa Zimmitti

1919 - 2013

Maria Theresa Zimmitti (Barbier), 94, wife of the late Ernesto Zimmitti of Middletown, passed away peacefully Saturday, August 24th at Apple Rehab Center. She was born February 15, 1919 in Bilboa, Spain daughter of the late Dr. Felipe and Maria Theresa Zuazo. She was a member of St. Sebastian Church. She is survived by two sons, Carmelo and his wife Beth Zimmitti of Cheshire, Eduardo and his with Rosaldo Zimmitti of Hebron. Two daughters, Sebastiana Garcia and her husband Carlos of Florida and Maria Zimmitti of Middletown. A brother, Eduardo Zuazo and a sister, Merhe Zuazo; 11 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Maria Theresa enjoyed spending time with family, often times spent together cooking. She was a devoted wife, mother grandmother to her family. She was a loving nurturing kind woman who always cared about others, always smiling. People were always welcomed to her home. Maria Theresa enjoyed hand knitting, relaxing by the shore and riding with her husband on his motorcycle. The family would like to thank the staff at Apple Rehab Center, especially Diana for their love and care, it was deeply appreciated.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday morning at 10 A.M. at St. Sebastian Church. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours In Lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to the charity of the donors' choice. D'Angelo Funeral Home, 22 South Main Street in Middletown is in charge of arrangements.
