Mary DiStefano Obituary

Mary (Capsalis) DiStefano, 94 of Middle Haddam, formerly of Portland, wife of the late Anthony J. DiStefano died Thursday, March 21st at Marlborough Health Care. Born on February 4, 1919 in Middletown, she was the daughter of the late James and Catherine Capsalis. She retired from Travelers Insurance as an executive assistant in March 1976.
She is survived by a sister, Ruth C. Steffman with whom she lived, three nephews and four nieces, Joe Lastrina, Sr,, Ann "Lou" Young, Sandi Mintzer, Marie Bordonaro, Katie Zampini, Bill and Jim Steffman and many great nephews and great nieces. She was predeceased by two sisters, Helen and Margaret Lastrina. Mary was a very loving and quiet lady and will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Monday, March 25, 2013 with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11AM at the Church of St. Mary, 51 Freestone Ave., Portland. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Middletown. Relatives and friends may call on Monday from 9:30 to 10:30AM at Portland Memorial Funeral Home, 231 Main St., Portland. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her memory may be made to the Church of St. Mary, 51 Freestone Ave., Portland, CT. 06480.
