Mellissa Ezell

EZELL, MELLISSA JOY Mellissa Joy Ezell, 53, of Middletown, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 8th at her home. Born in Middletown, she was the daughter of John H. Ezell of Meriden and the late Katharine (Sneed) Ezell. Mellissa lived in Middletown and formerly in Meriden and worked for Southern New England Telephone Company and Pratt & Whitney Aircraft. She was a member of Cross Street A.M.E. Zion Church where she was on Pastor’s Aide. Mellissa loved doing Missionary work and visiting people who were shut in or sick. She enjoyed cooking and baking and was a very thoughtful person who never forgot a birthday. Mellissa touched many lives and will truly be missed. Along with her father, she is survived by her daughter, Brittany Allyce Jackson of Meriden; two brothers, Irving K. Ezell of Meriden and William C. Ezell and his wife, Renetta of New Britain; a sister, Allyson Ezell-Blackman of Middletown; her Godson, Isaiah Minter; and her loving grandson, Poppa. She also leaves five nieces, Yesennia, Aleta, Alexa, Aleja and Jordan; a great niece, Jailena; three nephews, William Tyler, William Earl and Jyair; four great nephews, Alexander, Jazian, Ayden, and Jahkei and a host of cousin, aunts, uncles and special friends. Besides her mother, she was predeceased by her baby sister, Tammy Ezell. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 17th at 11:00am at Cross Street A.M.E. Zion Church, 440 West Street, Middletown with Rev. Moses L. Harvill officiating. Burial will follow in Indian Hill Cemetery.
