Thomas Silas Obituary
He was the son of the late David Silas and Maryann (Samolik) Silas.
Tommy will rejoin his father and mother, brother, Fred Dougherty, and sister, Ellie Lange who predeceased him.
Tommy was a lifelong resident of Middletown and attended Middletown schools. He was an active member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles in Middletown. He loved taking long drives, spending time at the shore fishing and boating. He enjoyed sharing a holiday meal with his family and more so he enjoyed the leftovers. He was appreciative of everyone in his life and he helped others in any way he could. He had many friends in the community who will remember his helpful ways and friendly smile.
He leaves his much loved family, children Nicole Silas of Middletown, Carissa Durant and husband Bill of Berlin, Jason Derosier and Sal Derosier of Middletown, sister, Donna Dyer and husband Bill of Middletown, brother, Bill Silas and wife Sharon of Killingworth, nieces, Melanie Siena-Thomas and Harmony Scott, nephews, John Siena, Nathaniel Silas, Ryan Silas and Josh Dougherty. He was known as "Papa" to his beloved grandchildren Arian, Mason, Teryn, Allyson, and Amilia.
He will always be in our hearts.
Friends and family may call on Wednesday July 3, 2013 from 9 to 11 a.m. followed by a memorial service at D'Angelo Funeral Home, 22 South Main Street, Middletown, CT.

I remember him so well. He had a wonderful laugh. He loved to sing and he was a great, smiling friend. He had this swag about him. Last time I saw him.... 1987 ish, he visited in VA and took me to dinner.

Tom was one of a kind. Always with a smile, nudge and giggle. All the ladies will always remember "hey sweetheart". Tom, has left such an indentation, impression on all our hearts that we will never forget. Fly like an Eagle my brother.....much love from your whole Middletown Eagle Family!

Tom and I (Bruce), learned to bury the Hatch like our former brother-in-law Butch Ruffino stated ! Tom was always was a good father to Nicole $ Carissa also KEVIN Gayeski that enjoyed his company. Tom and I talked when we saw each other and also to his sister Donna. I wish all of the family my deepest sympathy.
