Anna Kalista, 91, of Great Hillwood Road, Moodus, wife of the late William C. Kalista, passed away peacefully Friday, Aug. 24, in Buffalo, N.Y.
Anna was born in Moodus, the daughter of the late Michael and Blanche (Mozdziesz) Rajpolt. She was a lifelong resident of Moodus. Anna was employed by Southern New England Telephone and the East Haddam Elementary School. She loved and followed the New York Yankees for many years.
Anna is survived by her daughter, Jean Ann Augustino and her husband, Michael, of Buffalo, N.Y., a son, William C. Kalista and his wife, Kathy, of Moodus, two brothers, Eugene Rajpolt, of East Haddam, Michael Rajpolt, of Marlborough, six grandchildren, Ryan, Thomas and Nathan Kalista, Hailey K. Champagne, Kali Cozza and Kathryn Edwards, three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 10:15 a.m. from the Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver St., Middletown, followed by an 11 a.m. Funeral Liturgy will be at St. Bridget of Kildare Church. Burial will be in Saint Bridget Cemetery. Friends may call at the Biega Funeral Home Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m.
