CARLSON, CHARLES G. Charles G. Carlson, 74, of Haddam, beloved husband of 53 years to Patricia (Clark) Carlson died Monday (June 9, 2014) at his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Middletown, the eldest son of nine children of the late Reginald and Dorothea (Goodell) Carlson. Besides his wife, Charlie is survived by a son, Kurt “Tiger” Carlson and his wife Yvonne; a daughter, Camille “Bookie” Bair and her husband John; two grandchildren, Brittany and Charlie; three great grandchildren, Natalie, Zoey and Maxwell Charles due in September; four brothers, four sisters, and several nieces and nephews. Charlie will be remembered fondly as a generous and quick witted man who volunteered his time and wisdom to all. Charlie spent his life building homes and businesses in Haddam, leaving behind his permanent footprint in our community. He is probably best known for his role as Santa Claus, a role he cherished with his wife Pat “Mrs. Claus” for over 40 years. He will be sadly missed by a large “extended” family. A special thanks to Cheryl Smith and Dr. Zeidler of Middlesex Hospice. Friends may call at Biega Funeral Home 3 Silver St., Middletown on Friday June 13th from 5 to 7 p.m. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
