ELLISON, DAVID LONNIE David Lonnie Ellison, 58, of Meriden departed this life on March 7, 2014. Born in Florence, SC, he was the son of the late John and Leila (Curry) Ellison. David was a devout Christian and a member of Cross Street AME Zion Church. “Lonnie,” as he was more affectionately known by his family, was a bubbly, kind and loving brother, father and grandfather. He loved to laugh and was very much a comedian! Lonnie leaves behind three children: Nicole R. Jackson (Taylor), Lonnie D. Ellison, Jr. and Caspar J. Ellison; seven siblings: John Ellison Jr. (Davona), James Ellison (Linda), Ronnie Ellison (Cynthia), Randy Ellison (Doreen), Lizzie L. Ellison, Leila Drain (Charles) and Jettie Ellison-Brackett; three grandchildren: Lanayza Sanders, Destiny Ellison and Madison Jackson; and a host of nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, Lonnie was predeceased by two sisters, Jaunita and Loretha Ellison. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 13 at 11:00 a.m. at Cross Street AME Zion Church, 440 West Street, Middletown, followed by burial in Walnut Grove Cemetery in Meriden. Friends may call Thursday morning from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the church.
