Sharon Lee (Stevens) Griswold

1942 - 2013 Obituary Condolences
Sharon Stevens Griswold, beloved wife of Ronald C. Griswold since 1966, passed away peacefully at Apple Rehab of Middletown, CT on Thursday, April 4, 2013. She was born in Middletown, CT on August 29, 1942. She was the daughter of the late LeRoy E. Stevens and Eleanor Wagner Stevens. Besides her husband Ron, she is survived by her loving daughter, Wendy Griswold, APRN of Middletown. She is also survived by a sister, Patty A. Stevens.
After graduating from High School, Sharon was employed in the payroll department of Aetna Life Insurance Company. She then began helping her mom and dad with their family business, Stevens Telephone Answering Service, which she and her husband, Ron, purchased in 1980. In total, she spent 48 years directing calls to her customers.
Sharon enjoyed her four-legged family, Lucky, Precocious, Mittens, April, and her beloved cat, Sadie. They provided entertainment day and night. She also enjoyed bird watching and the beach. She loved UCONN men's basketball and she enjoyed reading and was interested in anything to do with the news. I want to especially thank our devoted daughter, Wendy, for always detecting problems with her numerous health issues for the past 22 years.
We would also like to thank Dr. Matthew Raider and the entire staff of Apple Rehab in Middletown. Also the staff at Middlesex Hospital and the special care from Betsy Stankiewicz APRN who cared for Sharon for many years. Additional thanks to Dr. Miklos Fogarasi and the entire staff at Middlesex Oncology, Dr. Crispin Abarientos and the staff of the Rheumatology Department, also Dr. Stan Opalacz and the staff of the gastroenterology group. Sharon will be missed greatly by her family and friends.
