Stephen T. Moisuk Jr.

Stephen T. Moisuk Jr., 67, of East Hampton, passed away at MidState Medical Center in Meriden May 23 after a relentless battle of lung cancer.
Steve is survived by his wife, Gloria (Hurlburt), son, Shawn Hawkes, of Colchester and daughter, Cheryl Hawkes, of Maine, brother, Robert Moisuk and wife, Nancy, of Enfield, and sister, MaryAnn Vickers and husband, Doug, of Florida. He is also survived by his mothers-in- law, Frances Rollish, of Cromwell and Kay Hurlburt, of Florida, and brothers-in-law, Edward Hurlburt and wife, Linda, of Arizona, Richard Hurlburt and wife, Terri, of Stonington, and Michael and Jeffery Hurlburt, of Cromwell. Steve leaves sisters-in-law, Carol Bill, of Willimantic, Nancy Doyle and husband, Ted, of Groton, Denise Ebert and husband, Art, of Florida, MaryJane Martin and husband, Tommy, of Nevada, Barbara (deceased) and husband, Reggie Levassur, of Colorado, and adopted sister, Elena Carles, of Portland. He leaves many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Steve proudly served in the U.S. Navy from1963 through 1969. He worked at E.I.S in Middletown for 17-plus years until the factory closed down. He retired as a painter in 2010. Steve loved to fish with his best friend Jimmy. He enjoyed horseshoes, darts, bowling, shooting pool and Friday night poker at the Portland Fire House. Steve was a huge fan of the New York Yankees and Miami Dolphins, and supported his son on any team he played on. He also loved his wife's sense of humor and good cooking.
Graveside service will be held June 2 at 11 a.m. at the Middletown Veterans Cemetery, Bow Lane, Middletown, CT.
Steve's family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Nadkarni and the oncology staff at MidState Medical Center. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to East Hampton Animal Control.
