SAPIA, ANNA PAPA Anna (Papa) Sapia, 90, of Middletown, beloved wife of the late Angelo Sapia, passed away peacefully into the hands of God on Monday, February 17, 2014 at Mid-State Medical Center, Meriden. Anna was born in Naples, Italy, daughter of the late Joseph and Giovanna Papa. She came to the United States in 1956 and spent the rest of her life in Connecticut. She was a member of St. Sebastian Church. Anna is survived by her sons, Salvatore (Phyllis) Sapia, Frank (Rosalie) Sapia of Middletown, her daughters, Michela (Dominic) Ragosta of Ocala, FL, and Joanne (Michael) Sienna of Portland, Maria Warmsley of Hawaii. Two sisters Yolanda and Josephine of Ocala, FL, and a brother John Papa of Naples, Italy. 13 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by a daughter, Josephine (Thomas) Lombardo. Funeral Services will be held Saturday morning at 9 A.M. from the D’Angelo Funeral Home, 22 South Main St. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 A.M. at St. Sebastian Church. Burial will follow in the family plot in St. Sebastian Cemetery, Middlefield. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Friday from 5-7 P.M.
