WHALEN, MARY (SIERAKOWSKI) Mary (Sierakowski) Whalen, 90, of Middletown, wife of the late Edward Whalen, died Thursday, February 27, 2014 at Wadsworth Glen Health Care. She was born in Cumbola, PA, daughter of the late Joseph and Angela (Bodziak) Sierakowski. Prior to her retirement Mary worked as a Home Health Aide for the Visiting Nurses Association and for Middlesex Hospital. She was a communicant of St. Pius X Church, Middletown and a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary in Cumbola, PA. Mary is survived by her sons Edward Whalen and his wife Connie of Reading, PA, Michael Whalen and his wife Pamela of Fayetteville, PA, daughter Mary Macunas and her husband Charles of Higganum, brother, Joseph Sierakowski of Stuart, FL, four grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Besides her husband, she was predeceased her sister, Frances Fabrizio and brothers, Stanley, Louis and Edward Sierakowski. Mary’s family is grateful and wishes to thank the staff at Wadsworth Glen for the loving care she received. Funeral services will be held at a future date in Pennsylvania. Burial will be at the convenience of the family at Schuylkill Memorial Cemetery in PA. There are no calling hours.
