MANCARELLI, ALBERT F. Albert F. Mancarella, 80, of Middletown, beloved husband of Margaret (Muller) Mancarella, died Sunday, March 16, 2014, at Middlesex Hospital. He was born in Middletown, son of the late Joseph and Mary Della Rocco Mancarella. Albert served with the U.S. Army from 1956 to 1958. Prior to his retirement, he was a meat cutter for Moriss and Otte Market and then later for Lino’s Market, both in Durham. Al was a member of the Italian American Club. Besides his wife, he is survived by daughters: Dawn Byrne and her husband Thomas of Higganum, Heidi Winesburg and her husband Jefferey of Killingworth, Delores Macsata and her husband Joseph of Winsted, Catherine Vynalek and her husband Richard of Durham; sisters Ann Mancarella and Lucille Mancarella, both of Middletown; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Grace Spada, and a brother, Carmen “Carl” Mancarella. Al’s family is grateful for the care and compassion given by DaVita Dialysis in Middletown and Dr. Jonathan Gage in New Haven. Funeral services will be Friday at 9:15 a.m. from Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver St., Middletown, followed by a service at 11 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church, 300 Washington St., Middletown. Burial will be at Center Cemetery, Portland.
