RACZKA, GENEVIEVE WNEK Genevieve Wnek Raczka, 95, wife of the late Chester Raczka Sr. Genevieve was born in Meriden on December 21, 1918. She was the daughter of the late Andrew and Mary (Kasperkiewicz) Wnek and resided in Middletown her entire life. She was a parishioner of St. Mary’s Church. She is survived by her children: Chester Raczka II and his wife Roberta, David Raczka and his wife Kathy, Andrew and his wife Patricia, Lisa and her partner Tawnia and daughter, Emme; grandchildren, Dr. Stacy Spooner and her husband Stephen, Brett Raczka and his wife Lori, Robert Raczka and his wife Katie, Ashley Raczka and David Raczka; great-grandchildren, who brought her great pleasure and fondly called her “G2”, Alyssa, Addison and Avery; brothers, Edward Wnek and Roman Wnek and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sisters, Harriet Mansolf and Viola McKinstry; brothers, Henry, John, Joseph, Leo and infant brother, Karol. She also leaves the Staddle Hill (Hendley Street) family; the Mozdziesz’s, the Checko’s, the Russo’s, and Marcia Crete, who all watched over her for many years! Special thanks to her Wadsworth Glen family who took great care of her the last eight years, especially Stella, Shana, Dee, Maureen, Jafar and Andre who took care of her like she was their own. Mrs. Toro and Mrs Vitale were great roomates! Also to the recreation department who placed a paint brush in her hand at the age of 88 and a bingo chip on the board... two of Mom’s favorite past times! Funeral services will be held Wednesday (April 9th)at 9:15 a.m. from Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver St., Middletown, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in celebration of Genevieve’s life at 10 a.m. at St. Mary Church, Middletown. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may visit Tuesday (April 8th) from 4 to 8 p.m. at Biega Funeral Home.
