SARPU, FRANK M. Frank M. Sarpu, 83, of Middletown, beloved husband of Clara (Crescimano) Sarpu, died Thursday at Middlesex Hospital. He was born in New London, the son of the late Rudolph and Helen Sarpu. Frank was a veteran of the Korean War, serving with the U.S. Air Force. He worked as a Project Engineer and Tool Designer for 37 years at Pratt & Whitney in Middletown. He sang with the St. Pius X Choir and was a coach with CYO Basketball and Westfield Little League. Besides his wife, Frank is survived by his son, Kenneth Sarpu and his wife Ann of South Windsor; a brother, Rudolph Sarpu of Waterford; four grandchildren, Bridget, Brendan, Kevin and Kathleen Sarpu, all of South Windsor. He was predeceased by his brothers, Raymond and Lawrence. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10:15 a.m. from Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver St., Middletown, followed by an 11 a.m. Funeral Liturgy at St. Sebastian Church. Burial with military honors will be in Saint Sebastian Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Biega Funeral Home.
