LIPPINCOTT, RICHARD PARMLY, JR. Richard Parmly Lippincott, Jr., 69, of Deep River, died peacefully Friday evening, April 25, 2014, after a long bout with cancer. He was born on March 31, 1945, the son of Richard and Evelyn Lippincott, and was raised in Deep River, where he lived his entire life. He and his wife, Karen, were married for 43 years. She predeceased him in 2011. Richard, known by his friends as “Gitch,” was a Vietnam vet and a member of the Connecticut Carpenters’ Local No. 24. Gitch loved fishing, hunting, boating and going to FL in the winter months. He is survived by his son, Richard P. Lippincott III, and his wife, Amy; his grandson, Brodie; his step-son, Barry Bates, and his wife, Ellie; their children, Maxx and Lenny; his step-daughter, Jolene Bates, her fiancé, Ronald Iverson, and her daughter, Cortney Labriola; as well as his siblings, Wells, Allen and Dean. Graveside services, with military honors, will be held Thursday (May 1) at 11 a.m. in Burr Cemetery, Rte. 81, Higganum. There are no calling hours. Biega Funeral Home has care of the arrangements.
