William J. Charboneau, 82, of Lake Shore Dr. in Middlefield passed away Thursday, October 20 at the Meriden Center. He was the husband of 60 years to Mary Ellen Hupfer Charboneau. Born in Minneapolis, Minn. on December 9, 1928; son of the late C. Joseph and Marcella Flory Charboneau.
Charboneau obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration from Loyola College in Baltimore; was a partner with Rips Realty Property Management and after retirement was the property manager for Davenport Dunbar Residence of Hamden. Charboneau was the current chairman for the Middlefield Housing Authority; a member of the YMCA's Men's Club of Meriden; served his country faithfully in the U.S. Army during the Korean War receiving the Korean Service Medal with two bronze service stars. He enjoyed playing golf, boating, reading and dancing.
He was the father of Mary Ann (Richard) Notarangelo, of Rockfall, Joan (Richard) Santos, of Middlefield, Thomas (Jeanne) Charboneau, of North Attleboro, Mass. and Cathy (Tom) Morrone, of North Haven. Charboneau was the grandfather of Michael (Liz) Notarangelo, Richard (Sarah) Notarangelo, Stephen Notarangelo, Gregory Santos, Michelle Santos, Christopher, David and Nicholas Charboneau and Paul and Kelly Morrone.
His funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Ave, Monday at 9 a.m. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in Saint Colman's Church, Middlefield at 10 a.m. Interment with full military honors will follow in Middlefield Cemetery. The visiting hours will be Sunday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Middlefield Senior Center, 405 Main St., Middlefield, CT 06455 or the V.F.W., P.O.
