Clarence C. Holley, Sr., 77, husband of the late Phoebe (Perry) Holley, died peacefully at his home in Edenton, NC. Born September 9, 1935, he was the son of the late Steward Holley and the late Lillie V. Anthony. Clarence retired to North Carolina after working thirty-four years at American Cyanamid in Meriden. He was a member of Mount Hebron Baptist Church in Meriden and a lifetime member of Oxley Hill Baptist Church in Merry Hill, NC. Clarence C. Holley loved his family, his friends, cooking, keeping his cars immaculately clean and watching Court TV shows.

Clarence is survived by two daughters, Janice Perry of Cromwell and Melody Caldwell of Middletown; four sons, Alvin Holley (Cheryl) of Middletown, Donald Boxley (Stella) of Meriden, Clarence Holley, Jr. (Carol) of Middletown and Vernon Holley (Carla) of Middletown; godson, Michael Shorter of Meriden; five brothers, Stewart Holley, Sr. (Mary) of Middletown, James Holley (Delores) of Southington, Marvin Lane of Middletown, William Anthony of Hampton, VA, and Bert Anthony of Aurora, IL; five sisters, Lillie Marie Hardy of Middletown, Barbara Holley (Joe) of Edenton, NC, Cora Anthony of Middletown, Jessica Anthony of Meriden, Shirley Freeman of Middletown; a special friend, Al Weston and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Besides his parents and wife, he was predeceased by a sister, Thelma (Jones) Holley and a grandson, Myron Holley.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 10th at 11:00am at Cross Street AME Zion Church, 440 West Street, Middletown with Rev. Dr. Willie J. Young officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. Friends and family may call before the service from 9:00 to 11:00am at the church.
