Hardly a day goes by that I don't think of my beloved friend Artie. He was more than a friend as he referred to me as his adopted son, which I was very proud to be. He truly lived the gospel in so many beautiful ways. Some day down the road I know we will be reunited again Resting in the Arms of God..

There are certain people you meet in life's journey and Arty was one. He was a wonderful friend and brother in Christ. I will miss him but will see him again. Love you always, Hughie

I want to thank Artie's family for holding his funeral today at the Rocky Hill VA that he so loved, so that all the staff and fellow veterans could be a part of saying goodbye to him and show our respect to such a wonderful man! I was so blessed personally to have met him and had the pleasure of working with him in therapy! He brought nothing but happiness and smiles wherever he went and for whoever he met! Everyone knew him at the VA and loved him! I was so sorry to see him leave us and I'm personally broken hearted. But I saw him fade and came to terms with the fact that he was ready to be with his wife that he so adored, after 60+ years! He always told me that she never aged, and still looked as young as the day they met! He beamed when he spoke of her! That's true love! Again, thanks for sharing your goodbyes with us who loved him the last 3 years! It made his passing a warm, family experience! I'm honored to have been there! "Love you more!"
