She was a long-time resident of Yorkville and then rural Kendall County before retiring to Ely with her husband, Dale, in 2008. There will be no services for Peggy per her wishes. Peggy loved her family very much and enjoyed many visits before her passing. She also enjoyed the lasting relationships with her classmates, Cheryl (Rick) Brandt, Susan (David) Lancaster and Mike Gardner. Peggy was preceded in death by her two sisters, Patricia Thomas and Jane Ming; her brother-in-law, Gary Thomas; her aunt, Yvonne Karkow; her uncle, Walter Karkow; her grandparents, Ira Perkins, Lilian Perkins, Vida Perkins, Harvey Christian and Sadie Christian. Peggy loved the beauty and wonderment of nature and the change of seasons. This drew her and Dale toward Ely, Minnesota. Peggy was courageous in her battle with cancer and lived life in abundance. Cancer may have taken her life, but it never dominated her life. Doctor visits and chemotherapy was just something on the to-do list in between trips out west, collector's glass shows, Dale's running events and visits with family. She was a very gentle and caring soul who touched many people, friends and strangers alike in her quiet and caring manner. She was an inspiration to all who knew her and she will be sorely missed.
