Joanne M. Smith Born: Feb. 26, 1949; in New York, NY Died: May 23, 2015; in Everett, WA Joanne Marie Smith, age 66, Joanne was born February 26, 1949, in New York, New York, to John and Eleanor Barris. She passed away on May 23, 2015, at her home in Everett, Washington, with her family next to her. After graduting high school, she devoted her life to her family and loved being a part of her grandchildren's lives and activities. She was an event organizer for Gymnastics of Great Falls Booster Club and the Moose Lodge. Joanne loved her cats, the outdoors, gardening and was an avid reader. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Eleanor Barris. Joanne is survived by her husband, David Smith; their two daughters, Sara Ferguson and Alicia Blair; siblings, Johnny Barris and Diane Mathey; and her 3 grandchildren, Joshua, Riley and Logan. Visitation, June 3, 2015, at Purdy & Walters at Floral Hills Funeral Home and Cemetery, 409 Filbert Rd., Lynnwood, WA. Everyone is invited to come at 1:00 p.m., to visit with the family and friends, followed by a Memorial Service at 2:00 p.m., in the Chapel, ending with the graveside service. Robb V. Smith Interment services for Dr. Robb Van Sittert Smith, 96, of DeKalb, Illinois, who died December 11, 2014, will be held at 10:30 a.m. June 6, 2015, which is a Saturday, at Afton Township Cemetery on Perry Road, rural DeKalb. In the event of inclement weather, the service will be held at Anderson Funeral Home, DeKalb. Following the service, a reception will be held at Kishwaukee Country Club, DeKalb. Dr. Smith was a 1936 DeKalb High School graduate and a practicing ophthalmologist in DeKalb for 39 years. He attended Christ the Teacher Parish in DeKalb and was a life member of Kishwaukee Country Club, as well as belonging to numerous medical associations. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the charity of the donor's choice in memory of Robb V. Smith.
