KAUFMAN, Texas – David Donald Larsen, of Kaufman, Texas, formerly of Sycamore, passed away Oct. 18, 2013, at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Kaufman, comforted by his wife of 50 years, Sue, and his pastor, Tony Eggleston.
Born Dec. 5, 1938, in Garvin, Minn., he graduated in 1957 from Tracy High School in Tracy, Minn., and served honorably in the U.S. Navy
from 1957 to 1961.
Dave moved to DeKalb, where he met and married his wife, Sue Turner, on Feb. 9, 1963. They made their home in Sycamore where they reared three children. He worked 32 years at Duplex Products in Sycamore before moving to Texas and retiring.
Dave is survived by his wife, Sue, of Kaufman; brother, Lyle Larsen of Currie, Minn.; sister, Donna Ruppert of Balaton, Minn.; sons, Mike (Missi) Larsen of Goodyear, Ariz., and Jeff (Angie) Larsen of Sandwich; daughter, Michelle (Shannon) Carrier of Maui, Hawaii; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father; mother; sister; and one granddaughter, which he has now joined in heaven.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, and funeral is at 2 p.m. Oct. 27 at Faith Center, 91 Oak Creek Drive, Kaufman, TX 75142. Interment with military honors will be at Elm Grove Cemetery, Kemp, Texas.
