Trevor Jeffery Cox, 15, of Chana, Ill., was granted his angel wings on Dec. 9, 2011.

He was born Sept. 27, 1996, to Jeff and Dana (Marshall) Cox. Although his life was short, Trevor made an impact on everyone around him. He loved music and was a drummer for the Oregon High School Band. He played guitar and sang with an amazing, deep voice.

He enjoyed acting and was in school plays, as well as several shows for Vince Carney Community Theatre in Rochelle, where he was also a member of Carney Kids. Trevor enjoyed movie making and was a walking encyclopedia, often giving additional educational commentary, as he watched documentaries with his family. Trevor was a member of Lighthouse Church.

He is survived by his loving parents, Jeff and Dana Cox, and sisters, Megan and Amy, all of Chana; a half-brother, Jerrod (Erica Pepper) Cox and their children; maternal grandparents, Donna McRoberts of Shabbona, Dave Marshall and Sherre Perkins of DeKalb; paternal grandparents, Larry and Phyllis Cox of Creston; maternal great-grandparents, Harold and Dolores Staurland of DeKalb; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and so many very special friends.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 15, 2011, at the Farrell Holland Gale Funeral Home, 110 S. Seventh St. in Oregon, with Pastor Kim Chapman of Lighthouse United Methodist Church officiating. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Trevor's final resting place is in Lighthouse Cemetery.
